Melt-in-Your-Mouth Butter Paratha Recipe – Crispy, Flaky, and Irresistible
Ingredients:
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 2 tbsp oil or melted ghee (for dough)
- ½ tsp salt
- Water (as needed for dough)
- Butter (for brushing)
- Additional ghee or oil (for cooking)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Dough:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt.
- Add the oil or melted ghee to the flour and mix well.
- Gradually add water and knead into a soft dough. You may need about ¼ to ½ cup of water.
- Once the dough is smooth and elastic, cover it with a damp cloth and let it rest for about 15–20 minutes.
2. Roll the Paratha:
- After resting, divide the dough into small balls (about 8–10, depending on size).
- Roll one ball into a small circle (about 4-5 inches in diameter) using a rolling pin. Dust with a little flour to prevent sticking.
3. Cook the Paratha:
- Heat a tawa (griddle) or flat pan over medium heat.
- Place the rolled-out dough on the hot tawa. Let it cook for about 30 seconds or until small bubbles appear.
- Flip it over, and then brush the top side with a little ghee or oil.
- Flip again and cook for another 30 seconds, pressing gently with a spatula to ensure even cooking.
- Once golden brown and slightly crispy, remove the paratha from the pan.
4. Brush with Butter:
- Place the cooked paratha on a plate and immediately brush with melted butter.
- Repeat with the remaining dough balls.
Serving:
Serve the butter parathas hot with yogurt, pickle, or any curry of your choice.
Enjoy your delicious, flaky butter parathas
