Soft and Fluffy Milk Paratha Recipe: A Perfect Comforting Breakfast
Ingredients:
- 2 cups whole wheat flour (atta)
- 1/2 cup milk (you can use any milk of your choice)
- 1 tablespoon ghee or butter (optional, for softness)
- 1 tablespoon sugar (optional, for sweetness)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon oil or ghee (for cooking)
Instructions:
Step 1: Prepare the dough
- In a mixing bowl, add the whole wheat flour, salt, and sugar (if using).
- Pour in the milk gradually while mixing, and knead the mixture into a soft, smooth dough.
- If the dough is too dry, add a little more milk; if it’s too sticky, add a little more flour. You can also add 1 tablespoon of ghee or butter to make the dough softer.
- Knead for 5-7 minutes, cover the dough with a damp cloth, and let it rest for 10-15 minutes.
Step 2: Roll the parathas
- Divide the dough into small equal-sized balls (about the size of a golf ball).
- Lightly flour the surface and roll each dough ball into a flat circle about 6-8 inches in diameter.
- You can apply a little ghee or oil between the layers of dough if you want a flakier texture.
Step 3: Cook the paratha
- Heat a tawa or non-stick skillet over medium heat.
- Once hot, place the rolled-out paratha on the tawa. Let it cook for about 1-2 minutes, until small bubbles form on the surface.
- Flip the paratha, and cook the other side for another minute.
- Brush a little oil or ghee on both sides, then flip again and press gently with a spatula to ensure even cooking. Cook until golden brown spots appear on both sides.
Step 4: Serve
- Once the milk paratha is cooked, remove it from the pan and keep it warm in a clean kitchen towel.
- Serve it with yogurt, pickle, or a drizzle of honey for a delicious breakfast or snack!
Enjoy your soft and delicious milk paratha.
